2012 Republican presidential candidate and Texas Governor Rick Perry received applause from the GOP presidential debate when he touted the death penalty executions in his state. The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.
@ajbren92 Evidence can be fabricated. Look up the Guildford Four and think what would have happened if the UK still used capital punishment. I'll tell you what would have happened, a 14 year and his family would have been put to death for treason and possession of Nitroglycerine, which he couldn't say, and the bombing they were imprisoned in connection to was literally impossible for them to commit.
@313countrygirl Segregation was around for a long time, for that matter so was slavery, actually British-occupation lasted quite a while in your country. Why change those?
Man it really fuckin annoys me when ppl call ppl that commit a heinous act an animal. Animals don't commit Heinous acts against one another only people do that.
Cameron Todd Willingham is a bad choice to be the "Poster Boy" for Amnesty International, The Innocence Project, etc. etc. That scumbag left his 3 baby girls to be burned alive, while he ran from the house without so much as a blister. He'd be the perfect "Poster Boy" for Pro death penalty organizations.
I agree with you, and that is the major down fall with the death penalty in the past, but I think it needs to be tweeked and a person should only be executed if their is DNA, or biological evidence, or their is a video tape linking the suspect to the crime or a video taped confession. And if their criteria is met than a murderer should be put in his place.
