Bisimoto & Gen5Alive project; The car is a 94 Accord Ex.
F22b1 SOHC VTEC motor
AEM Short ram intake
DC 4-2-1 header
Magnaflow exhaust
Magnaflow highflow cat
UR pulleys
Stock clutch/flywheel
stock timing
6,000 miles on Mobil1 oil.

This is a baseline run to discover the power at the wheels before cam/timing and other variables are worked with. The idea around this build is to do modifications that the novice enthusiest can perform in their very own driveway at home. The baserun yielded 124hp and 131tq to the wheels.

The original thread with build/project information can be found here http://www.gen5alive.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6364

The updated numbers with a cam dropped in with this project showed a 24.7hp increase and the same with torque.

You may obtain these parts and more in our very own online store at http://www.gen5alive.com/store and you can catch us on facebook at www.facebook.com/gen5alive

OR if you prefer you may visit our showroom and installation facility at

  • i heard getting an aem adjustable cam will push an f22b1 to 200+ h.p is it tru?

  • @MAHRTINLOWKS No, Wherever you heard that is completely untrue. The motor by itself has no way to generate that type of power with just a cam gear.

  • @gen5alive wat would i need to do to get it pushing 200 plus without a swap

  • @MAHRTINLOWKS Without knowing your current setup and power? Custom cam, headwork, valve springs, engine management, cam gear, intake manifold upgrade, piston change, injectors and a few hours of tuning work

  • @gen5alive Do those same requirements go for the F23a?

  • @MrJdmcd7 It would be about 950 to do up sir; cam, gear, head work, install and you would be rolling out with some fairly potent power

  • @gen5alive damm hey so like around how much is it to get the stage 2 cam n valve job for my f22b1?

  • @MAHRTINLOWKS With proper components and tuning yes but just putting the cam gear itself on with nothing else......no way.

  • @MrJdmcd7 It is the ABS pump attempting to pressurize the system. Usually it will happen when the pump is not working properly or if you have a leak somewhere

  • whats dat noice at 1:45 my accord does dat noise too
