There are some speculations that the Keeley Fuzz Head is a glamorized overdrive, and though that might be true in those claimants' rigs, I have found that the Fuzz Head, though sometimes capable of getting an OD-like grit, is not an overdrive pedal: rather, it's a fuzz with a temperament, not a temperamental fuzz...

  • What angled jack do you use to connect the ibanez and the fuzz head? Im looking for real good quality and shortest as possible.

  • @TheSoundCook those are George Ls, right angle. Can cut the cable to fit, use chrome or brass straight angle or right angle, and there are two different gauges of cable (if things haven't changed since I last went George L shopping). Thanks for watching...!

  • Love this pedal run mine before a java boost. The Knob inside the fuzz head box can increase or decrease your fuzz I set mine in the middle for more clarity if you want more grit turn it up.still if nasty broken speaker fuzz is what you want this is not the pedal.

  • @777PLove

Agreed. It's very versatile, but won't do the torn speaker thing. Keeley Electronics will be sponsoring a new fuzz soon: it's the Mahoney Buzzrite. That'll do the "nasty broken speaker fuzz" you'd mentioned. That and the Fuzz Head will be the perfect suite o' fuzz.

  • Nice, is that the 0.033uf capacitor or the 0.027uf stock capacitor?

  • @mattkelt

It's not the stock. I lost that one. I think you're right; it was the .033.

  • @Priestfilms

Ok thanks, by the way the fuzz head is really good sounding. I liked it when you set it to sound like an od and compare with the ibanez, much more clarity.

  • @hotfudgemoney

That's a great amp. Huge 4x10 glorious tone!!

  • @KingTabor

I used a Blues Jr. set at apartment levels.

  • @agentpissant42 Maybe. The hunt for a fitting fuzz is personal. Sometimes expensive. I wouldn't bash the Fuzz Head too heartily if you want to sell it in order to try something else. If it's not right for you, it's not right. I had so sell mine. But to pay for a blown tire.

  • I just got my Fuzz Head and haven't been able to dial in a tone which is treble overload. My amp wasn't the culprit, as all of my other pedals sound deliciously full, so I'm not sure where to look next. I opened it up and turned down the internal range control which helped but the Fuzz is still far from perfect. Will the extra caps I ordered from Keeley do the trick?

  • @btyremanable hey thanks! I had to sell mine to pay for a flat tire. :( Will be getting another for sure. The Keeley OD is very Fuzz Head-like, but definitely not a Fuzz Head. One can tell that it was made by the same dude though!
