@latona2205 Just because a book is good and mostly ends up being better doesn't mean it shouldn't be adapted at all. Some of the best films of all time are novel adaptations. I agree a remake almost never is better than its original, but it's always interesting to see a new spin on something. Perhaps a straight remake of this would be pointless but an Argentinian modern take on it may be interesting :)

@Gmancrap if you have revolutionary ideas go out and do them. get your friends/people off the street/homeless people. film school gives you access to things but a really truely revolutionary idea as you said you have a bunch of... can be done without film school. Go do it and stay humble.

I usually HATE student films with a passion, but Scorsese's here seems to have so much energy. You can definitely see where his style in his feature length films came from.
