A wayward meth addict and his boyfriend are summoned home by a family friend to check on his estranged, griefstricken father following the recent death of his mother. His father's attempts at reconciliation are rebuffed and instead expose family skeletons and past resentments. Then, under the shadows of night, a trauma leads to a chance at redemption.
Depressing film but brilliant performance by Craig di Francia. Excellent feel for the role...concerned yet disgusted and his ability to convey his pain to the audience is palpable. A performance like this is easily overlooked cause of the lower budget nature of the film. I expect Difrancia to become a cult movie icon.
