Just a small tribute I put together for Master Luthier "Christian Olsson" of Unicorn Bass Guitars to highlight his superb skill ,craftmanship and love he puts into every instrument he builds.
All photographs are owned by Christian and the two peices of music are owned and played by the man himself.
Both peices of music are played on a standard 4 string instrument with Unicorns new Quad pick ups.

  • Lovely basses. The sound doesn't reach Alembic quality, but great sound not the less. Great pics too!

  • @ramon709 Hey Ramon Alembic basses are the buisness we know this and don't forget they have been around since1969 and should be ahead of the game.Unicorn are in their infancy compared to Alembic but wow what an amazing array of sounds and designs they have.I appreciate your love of Ron Wickershams instruments i just think these guys are the ones to watch.

  • @willy2guns Thanks my friend! Nice of you to say! It´s all about the love of bassguitars. In the same way i appreciate craftsmen of all trades doing what every fiber of their being tells them what to do i am in Nirvana when i´m out in the workshop 9am-6pm! It´s not about prestige or any other silly reason! :-)

  • @unicornbass Yeah as I said in my other response, because some models look a lot like an Alembic I automatically start to compare the sound with an alembic series bass (which is not fair). The fact is that I love the Unicorn basses, they are made with passion I see that right away and the sound is lovely and divers too! And 2k for such a bass is a very friendly price too, unfortunately I don't have a single cent so I can only dream about owning one. If Unicorn does charity, then think of me :)

  • @Ry42Back Ohh definitely, nothing bad to say about these basses, would love to own one! If you create basses that are inspired upon Alembic then one automatically start comparing it with Alembic. As for the sound, some settings sound a lot like the Status sound, which is great!

  • Fantastic sounding bass. I would be happy to do trade my alembic mk for this.

  • @ramon709 This bass (in the recording) is the €2000 Bassic recorded with the onboard soundcard, even though it´s on a Mac the sound quality doesn´t reflect the bass´ quality. But i agree. the bassic bass is not to be compared to an $10.000 Alembic. However, the master and sovereign series basses have had customers that previous had series I and II Alembics, but then again, they start at $6.000 so a completely different animal with incredible projection. I thank you humbly for your opinion! :-)

  • Gorgeous tones :)
