Operation of my split hood, using electric actuators. Manual switch now, but I have space on my remotes to make it remote control.

No, because the hood is open in front (scoops) and back (windshield side) anyway. All electrical connections by auto manufacturers are waterproof. The car is 21 years old and I haven't had a problem yet.

doesnt it damage the electrical parts when it rains since its in two pieces?

Split the hood.
Install the special hinges (cheap to buy)
Test for opening/closing
Install the actuators (same place I bought hinges from, I think it was Autoloc)
Install switches to trigger. I have two spots on a remote control that I will use for remote operation.
how in the world did you do that?
