The recent product announcement from ParkZone of a new F4U Corsair has created a huge amount of interest from avid RC pilots waiting to get a chance to fly one of everyones favorite warbirds. The RTF Corsair comes equipped with a 480 brushless motor, a Li-Po battery with the necessary Li-Po 12-volt charger, 30-amp speed control and DX5e 2.4GHz DSM2™ radio. Above all, it is the "Bent Wing Bird."

Some previous F4U Corsairs have been available but were difficult to build due to the distinctive wing shape. This made it a "wish I could build one" model for many people who may not have had the time necessary to build a complicated project. Well, this one totally solves that problem. Out of the box it can be completed and ready to fly in just a few minutes - it is truly a ready-to-fly. The Plug-N-Play® version is just as quick to finish and only requires that the builders install their own receiver.

Flying the Corsair is one of those things you just have to experience to understand how much fun it is to see this WWII fighter cruise by on a low pass at the field with all the other folks giving their approvals. Take a look at our review video and get some interesting detail information and see some people flying the Corsair. Then go get your own. This is one plane a lot of people are going to be bringing to the local flying site. Be it at a park or club field, the fun starts with the first takeoff.

  • if you are good and have a lot of expirience with a ultra micro p-51 could you get this for your first big 4 channel

  • @camberto5 I would still probably recommend the T-28 or Super Cub first

  • so i have this plane and each time i try to take off i get 3 feet off or so then it does a barrel roll right into the ground any reason why???

  • @jayworthenwhoa Are you saying it's rolling to the right?

  • Would you deem it safe to skid land the corsair on rough ground that is comprised mostly of dead wild grass and dirt?

  • @morningwoodsir Try to stick to the dried grass and you should be ok. Dirt can also have rocks which could mar up the belly a little bit.

  • Because of "left turning tendencies"... One is simply torque. The engine spins one direction, and the airplane wants to turn the other- left... Newton called this "an equal and opposite reaction". The next tendency is caused by spiraling slipstream. The prop is creating wash that is spiraling around the fuselage and striking the left side of the tail. This, in turn, makes the nose turn left. Other tendencies are caused by gyroscopic forces and something called "P-factor"

    Clear as mud?

  • flying a super cub lp cant wait to get it 2 airplane

  • @trainengineerpilot I would say yes, it's my first plane and it's nice and easy to fly, flies nice and slowly, and is very stable :)

  • @camberto5 Get this plane if you haven't already! I started with a Hobbyzone Champ and an UM T-28, this plane is easier than the UM T-28 (more stable, but a lot faster). Just practice on a sim and find a nice big open area for the first flight because this will eat up space very quickly compared to a micro. Be sure to check controls too, my rudder and ailerons needed servo reversing on the dx5e. I had to replace the airframe on the UM t-28, but have yet to crash the big corsair.

  • Would this be a good first low wing, I do have practice flying a big 4 channel Cessna?

  • @camberto5 Ultra micros are a lot lot harder to fly than normal sized RC planes. I wouldn't reccomend somebody that flies park flier sized planes to try to fly a UM P-51. They're likely to crash the UM and put it in a closet somewhere. That's pretty much what happens to most park flier guys that buy UMs. They fly once, crash horribly, throw the box in the closet. Go back to flying these.

  • @Fly Air Jay

YAY im not the only smart one :)

  • @jayworthenwhoya, did u check your aileron settings? The same thing happened to me, and I had a look and my ailerons were reversed !

  • @HorizonRCdotCom yes sir
