Hi taoquimik,

thanks for the kind comment. I went back to Ubon this past November and spent several months in the area. I agree it is a wonderful city with many nice people. I've heard there is a new complex opening in the sunee area. New movie complex showing english movies. I'm going to try to go again this year around November but won't be able to stay as long due to health issues.

I hope you are able to return to the Ubon area to live your dream again. Best of luck.

I most certainly agree with you on the first two but I don't have a family in Thailand so can't comment on that.

I just came back from Ubon and the isaan area this March after a little over 4 months in the area. I am looking forward to my return to that area this coming October.

no, I was just on vacation. But I'm retiring in 2 months and Ubon will be my home base while exploring Thailand.

@jbuzzy I went there in May of this year, after spending two weeks in Pattaya. I love Ubon, a million times better than Pattaya, I want to go back, but can't speak a word of Thai (at the moment)!
