@ejw87 he said it because he was trying to comfort her. she was crying because she wanted angel and buffy to end up together and she got so emotional. david stepped in to comfort her.

This episode makes me tear up just thinking about it. One perfect day with the one you love and she doesn't even remember it in the end. And then it just kinda murdered the chances of them getting together. :'(. both of these series made me cry my eyes out and laugh my head off. I miss quality writing for vampire shows.

SMG wanted that BUFFY AND ANGEL CAN BE TOGETHER !! in the 2 last seasons !! buffy/SMG isn't happy with the men she has !! ESPECIALLY SPIKE !!

So if you listen really closely at the very end of the "I Will Remember You" episode, you can hear David accidentally say, "Sarah, please," instead of "Buffy, please," because SMG was crying so hard the day they were filming because she was convinced Buffy and Angel belonged together and she had begged Joss Whedon to change the end. David was trying to comfort her but she couldn't stop crying during the shooting. This episode makes me bawl every time!
