good own interpretation shows the real artistry of a drummer.......

to add on, practive rudiment VERY VERY SLOWLY, if your rudiments sound band slow they sound garbage fast. . .and coming from someone who is a percusionist. . practice timing with your feet (bass + high hat) . . .the drum that cuts the most is bass, practice timing and balance along with your hands, dont just attempt to pic up a piece of music and expect to be able to play it correctly, just like anything practice makes perfect

@mamasboy1231 Only advice I can offer is to just stick to it. I learned by ear too. Never took a drum lesson in my life. I DID play trumpet from 3rd grade, all thru college, so that helped w/ understanding music in general, but no formal drum lessons. Start small...work into progressively harder stuff. If I could do it over again, I'd probably take drum lessons, cuz learning some of the rudiments by ear can be tricky. Watch videos and learn as much as yo u can...and just have fun.

wow that been a while ago iv been playing for about 10 months i was wanting to know if you had any advise for a 12 year old drummer that has the heart for drumming but is playing by ear and some people say i don't have a clue what i'm doing when i know that i'm 100% better then what they could do unless they were comparing me to somebody else but do u have any advice

@mamasboy1231 Technically, I got that set in the video for xmas about 15 years ago when I was 18. Then I went to college...and didn't get to play much...just on breaks...then i moved and couldn't bring it with me so lost out on another 6 years. Moved back home, but couldn't have it in apartment, so it was at parents'. So played on/off for past 15 years with HUGE breaks between...until 3 months ago. I now live in same house as it. lol
nice i wanna learn how to play that song . is it hard?

@RLJMB Nah...not really. I learned it just by listening to the song over and over and keeping the CD in my car whenever I was going somewhere...tapping on my steering wheel while I listen.
