Which statement did you find idiotic? I'm curious.

Thanks. I had fun making the videos, but have more fun actually doing the process of incubating the eggs and releasing the fish into the wild. I like to play in the water and have been fascinated by fish and birds all my life. Being able to help salmon, even in a small way, is very comforting to me.

why are there dead salmon eggs?

i mean, like, how did it die? Run out of oxygen? or does it born with no nucleus?

@belliouse You know, I'm not completely sure of why they die. Perhaps it is because some of them get injured in the transportation process. Maybe some of them don't get enough oxygen.

Even as an egg, they are large multicellular creatures, so the "no nucleus" idea probably isn't the case.

I'd imagine if you had a good site to do this (close to a water source that has had a salmon run, cold, fresh water delivered at at least 10 gallons per minute) and could make contact with the right people, anyone could do this. I am not a part of any larger grouping, but I did get help from the Mid-Sound Fisheries Enhancement district and have been supported by the Washington Dept. of Fish & Wildlife for 13 years (they give me the eggs.)
