This is the raw footage for another test I did with the camera. For my original nature test shots, I scaled the video down in Premiere Pro to 1280 x 720 and adjusted the colors/brightness/contrast. This is the raw video, straight out of the video camera and into YouTube's encoding engine.

EDIT: No idea why the audio isn't working. For my other HF200 videos, I imported it into Premiere and exported it as an H.264 video, with I think AC3-encoding for the audio. This video is straight from the camera, so I'm assuming whatever compressor the audio uses, YouTube must not be a big fan?

  • Hey people i have the same camcorder which is the Legria HF200 (called Vixia in the usa) My first test footage was shot in 24mbps and i got artifacts just the same as in this video or others. To fix this i record my video at a lower bitrate which is the 17mbps rate and my video is still at 1920 x 1080 resolution but i dont get any sound or video artifacts. Youtube really needs to tweak their avchd video decoding process. Also for transferring video files from cam to pc use the rear usb ports.

  • @GRiZLOC Good to know! Thanks for the update!

  • I want to buy this Camera. But in your video are heavy sound errors :( Does the camera record correct sound?

  • Not sure what you mean on this one, the sound works for me.

  • good !

  • @UED Yeah I got that to man.

  • @FixedLensProductions yup! they open.

  • does anyone know if you can open these files in sony vegas pro 9.0?

  • Download k-lite full pack and no problem to view mts video in your computer. The camcorder is superb.

  • Your computer isn't meant to play mts or m2t files. None of the programs are strong enough. What you do is upload it to YouTube or another online video player. There, it will be decoded and played smoothly.

I also film with this camera and use Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 and it works brilliantly.

Check out some of my videos

  • @zlaczak try VLC it's free. You might have to re-encode the file.

  • @UED Look at "6006Peter" - all videos made by Canon HF200.
