Foilboarding on a home made hydrofoil wake board that really works! This is a compilation of my other videos showing the construction of a foil board for less than $100, then the process of learning to ride, and finally some good flying. Everyone has seen Laird Hamilton, the guys from Hawaii, and others riding the expensive air chairs and sky skis that they've modified. There are also expensive commercial versions for kite surfing. I decided that I could do it myself for hundreds or even thousands of dollars less. In the video you will see my Dad riding, and also me, in the hat. Sorry, no videos of us jumping the foil. I stopped jumping due to the wing breaking off a couple of times when I landed. It's still the most exciting board I have ever ridden. Enjoy!

  • Hmmm... why not???

  • good job!

  • This looks like a lot of fun! Can you give us some tips on how to build one? I noticed you seem to be using a standard wakeboard, I assume you had to drill holes straight through it for the hydrofoil mounts? I also noticed your rear (right) binding is very far back, did you drill new holes for it? or how did you get it that far back? Also some measurements for the fins shown at 0:28 and the shaft at 0:33 would be very useful. Thanks!

  • Very awesome! Simple design, easy to build.

I'm working on my own hydrofoil project, but I want it to be super efficient for light wind windsurfing, so I'm making molds to make my foils out of carbon.
