I loved my Kong Bars until they snapped in the middle on me. Should I had covered risers for support? I would love to go back to the Kong Bars but I'm nervous. I can't believe they snapped while riding...I'm just baffled...

I loved my Kong handle bars until they just snapped in the middle. I am still in shock that my bars snapped while riding. I would love to go back to the Kong bars but I'm nervous. Should I have had covered risers or what? I'm just baffled...

@baroncustom...spoke with a representative this morning and he described the same thing you suggested. By the end of riding season I plan on having those bars on my bike and will comment on the success. I appreciate your input and look forward to the attention and comfort.

Hello I just picked up my bike with my new 16 inch Kong bar and let me tell you that i am really happy with the look, the ride and the handling is freakin awesome. I have no problems with that height either...at first it looks itimidating but no sweat. Too bad the wife doesn`t like...oh well that means that other women will not look my way lol. Thanks again for a great bar

Not really sure but when I was getting sized, my mechanic was looking at your website. You sell the Kong bar along with the cable kits for them. He likes that because it makes it easier for him or anyone to install the proper cables.
Any bar that's stepped in the center should be supported with a one piece dog bone top clamp. This relieves a lot of the stress on the center wire exit hole which is the weakest point of the bar. Another key thing to note, never use tie-downs to your handlebars when transporting a bike. We see this time and time again, and this can be a major cause of fatigue. Also, never grind the center exit hole to allow more wires to be passed through, or to make wiring easier.

I am 6' tall. 33 to 35 inch reach. What is the best size hangers for me?

@rmdoz00 Apes are as much about style as they are about comfort. "Best" size is very subjective in this regards. Based on your stature, 16" Apes are probably a good fit that won't over elevate your arms to an uncomfortable level. That being said, an ape ranging from 14"-18" is probably still within your realm of comfort and may help you in find something to suit your style and the style of your bike.

Thanks for your fast customer service to my inquiries. The other day I was sized up for a 16 inch 1.25 Kong bar for my V star 650. Unfortunately my mechanic told me that size bar is on back order. Not a problem, I`ll have to be patient and wait for it to arrive. That 16 inch bar must be a very popular seller, that`s good to hear.

@73FIREful Odd that they say they are back ordered. We have over 100 in stock, and my distributors all have plenty of them too. Wonder where they ordered them from?
