Pizza Pasta - Punch-Out!! (Arcade)

Pizza Pasta is one of the two characters that got lost to time, along with Kid Quick (from the same arcade game). Kid was eventually replaced by Disco Kid, and based on looks alone, I'd say ol' Pasta here got usurped by Don Flamenco. To that end, I've put Don Flamenco's background music in here since the arcade game had none.

Pizza Pasta is from Naples, Italy, and his special move is to... grab onto you and do an uppercut? Whatever. When you dodge it, you can turn his face inside-out. This particular move got adapted to the SNES version of Aran Ryan, where he additionally saps away your Stamina and adds it to his own. In the original arcade game, though, it just makes for an easy knockdown. I've had times where Pizza Pasta didn't get back up after the second knockdown, but this was not one of them.

Doing a quick search for Pizza Pasta on YouTube didn't yield any relevant results, so here I am uploading my own. Courtesy of MAME and my laptop capturing its own video line output.

I think the character you play as says the word rape when he's grabbed by Pizza Pasta.

This game was around LONG before the word "rape" was cliché. The ref is actually shouting "Break!"

Aran Ryan was the one who replaced Pizza Pasta. They have the exact same boxing record (18 wins, 10 losses)!

It actually makes a bit of sense to suggest that Ryan is Pasta's replacement. It'd explain the whole grabbing thing.
