Standard Disclaimer: This is a dangerous reaction that has been carried out by experienced chemists after a thorough risk assessment has been made. If you are dumb enough to mess around with hazardous chemicals and do yourself an injury it is your own stupid fault and you deserve everything you get.

Another example of a fire starting with the addition of water to chemicals.

  • That was excellent. I'm not really sure as to why you needed to ignite the mixture with potassium... I woulda kept the stuff if I were you. But I am quite a fan of diethyl ether. Try putting a little in a medicine dropper and lighting the tip on fire. Makes a great make-shift flame thrower=]
