Occupy Oakland, 1am November 3, 2011 - Fire on Telegraph and Broadway

Desperately attempting to salvage an otherwise successful General Strike, an Occupy Oakland bystander tries to extinguish a street fire at the intersection of Telegraph and Broadway and is attacked by masked men wearing all black who toss more fuel into the burning pile before police and fire crews move in.

@mdgelly The police disappeared throughout the day in a huff over Quan's decision and to allow their agents (and the fools who are too young and angry to recognize them) to run amok and trash our town. It was the cops way of saying fuck' you to the city. And these fools think they are the vanguard.

One more thing--to want to "unmask" and "expose" the people with the courage to stand up to the police dooms every occupation (like the one in Oakland!) that might ever be evicted to helplessness in the face of police attacks. That means that we can do nothing except what our rulers permit us to do. There wouldn't be an occupation in Oakland anymore if it weren't for the courageous ones.

So the "unmaskers" are enemies of the occupation movement who want to end it.
