  • 1 method to grow good grass during the SUMMER is to use a layer of HAY above the tall Fescue grass seed, for example, to keep it cooled from the Sun's heat!. The point is to water every day and let nature take its course and you'll have new grass in no time :)

  • "Don't seed in summer"

Depends on the grass. Bermudagrass love the heat. 90-100F daytime highs are great for growing Bermudagrass.

  • I was thinking about the same-thing she should of talked about how different grasses would grow in different environments.

  • A bit immature don't you think but I am guilty to I had a bit of a chuckle from reading your comment "mattalv11".

  • I will agree with you "audiballin" even though people have gave you a thumbs down. I have seen "Better Grass" before. I think you got thumbs down before because maybe people have bias views in this subject. Yes it seems ridicules but people have bias views in just about everything. Remember bias can go both ways they may hate something or love it because of false or incomplete evidence.

  • Perhaps you are from a northern environment....but your advise may cause many views to waste seed depending on their region. There are cool season grasses (such as rye and fescue varieties) and warm season grasses (such as bermuda, bent grass, zoisia, etc). Cool season grasses you can and should re-seed in late fall or very early spring (even under snow) for the best/thickest stand. Warm season grasses such as Bermuda require 65-75 degrees b4 germination begins...mid spring...early summer.
