Two joint pieces by choreographer Petri Kekoni and composer Olli Koskelin invite us to meditate upon the power of contemporary dance in an ever-accelerating world. The live string music and movement in the pieces grew in the spirit of Cunningham-Cage, tuned to breathe together and separately.

The Green Armchair (2002) is a study in the aesthetics of repose and of the borderline between movement and immobility.

PETRI KEKONI:
Kaatuva maa (Falling Land)

Two joint pieces by choreographer Petri Kekoni and composer Olli Koskelin as a small festival invite us to meditate upon the power of contemporary dance in an ever-accelerating world. The live string music and movement in the pieces grew in the spirit of Cunningham-Cage, tuned to breathe together and separately.

Falling Land (2001) exudes the power and fury of nature, carried on by the wave of sound created by the Avanti! string quartet. An impacting piece about one kind of an environmental catastrophe, realized in architectural, almost mathematically precise movement.
