Song lyrics shown below:

GREAT IS THE JOY

They say that one who sees
With eyes like blazing wisdom suns
The suffering of all beings
Will weep for evil he has done
Who would have guessed the Buddha's light
Illumines the place beyond space and time?
Who would have guessed that all along
The treasure of his wisdom lies within your own mind?

Great is the joy
Great is the joy
Great is the joy within my heart

What you are is what you have done
What you do, you will become
Don't keep looking for what you never lost
Turn the light around, take yourself across
The sea of suffering is deep and wide
A turn of the head is the other side

The sea of suffering is deep and wide
A turn of the head is the other side

Great is the joy
Great is the joy
Great is the joy within my heart

  • The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend personal God and avoid dogma and theology. Covering both the natural and the spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description. If there is any religion that could cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism. ~Albert Einstein

  • Good song, though-- maybe I'm the only one on this, but the line "The suffering of all beings Will weep for evil he has done" seems misfortunate. I'm not sure if it is a misuse of a pronoun - or fragmented thoughts run together... but the line makes it sound like Buddha has done evil (of which, the suffering of all beings weep).

  • This moved me to tears.

  • @liuyuki uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr 10000000000000000 percent riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, riiiiiiiiiiiight, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

  • I love this song :-)

  • The only thing of relevance is spiritual progress and development. The path of the 'awakened ones' (Buddhas) guides us to this. Einstein's statement is spiritually and scientifically profound.

  • To the best of my knowledge, she gave back her vows as Bhikshuni to resume a life of a house-holder.
