Author Alex Sanchez is the recipient of the 2011 Tomas Rivera Mexican American Children's Book Award for his book Bait. In this candid interview, Alex discusses the impact of his personal journey. In addition, he offers a glimpse into the process of writing Bait and its potential to change the lives of all youth.

Alex Sanchez is the author of the Rainbow Boys trilogy of teen novels, along with The God Box, Getting It, and the Lambda Award-winning middle-grade novel So Hard to Say.
