Final Fantasy VIII Odin Optional Semi-GF Sidequest Walkthrough

My 100th YouTube video!

You read right, a full Odin sidequest walkthrough with commentary! I did this from start to finish, from entering Centra Ruins until Odin's defeat. I make the comments during the video of what to do next. For the sake of having a short enough video and not boring everyone to death, I just defeated Odin without taking the time to draw out magic and mug the Luck-J Scroll. The biggest purpose of this battle besides acquiring this new semi-GF is acquiring a large amount of one of the most powerful spells in the game, Triple. Not many enemies in this game have Triple available to draw, and the ones that do are generally very difficult. Actually the next GF I'll acquire has Triple available to draw, but it's a battle where he does actually attack me, lol. I don't really use Triple in battles, but it junctions to everything extremely well, only Ultima junctions better overall. As I had mentioned in the video how I normally go about the battle, I draw until about 6 minutes left, then I go for the kill (or defeat actually). In just under 10 minutes, I drew out a full 100 Triples with Rinoa, who had a Magic stat of 37 (100 Sleeps and Mag+20%), 90 with Zell who had a Magic stat of 32 (100 Sleeps and Mag+40%) and 76 with Squall who had a Magic stat of 30 (13 Ultima). Their levels were 16, 16 and 23 respectively. Not a bad amount of draw power for low levels and an even better amount of Triples when the battle was done.

why you so low level

I did this before disc 2, after I had the mobile Garden. So at this point, I didn't grind much, so my level was still low.

I am currently going through ff8 for the 10th time. I like Odin. He is a fun GF to summon. Kind of sad in the end of the game you need no GF's. Just squalls final limit.

@edogawa234 Zell is practically the tank of the whole set of characters, if you dont like to plan strategically, Zell is the way to go for power.
