http://MPGomatic.com gets the lowdown on the Nissan Leaf plug-in electric car at the 2010 Washington Auto Show from Nissan's Director of Product Planning and Advanced Technology Strategy, Mark Perry. The Leaf will be the first affordable mass market highway-capable pure electric vehicle (based on Lithium battery technology) from a major manufacturer.

So if they put charging at the mall that mean area would have to be set a side for them. Then with the theft of copper you'll pull up to a charging station to find the cord cut. Then you'll be charge for charging your leaf but if you don't have enough money and your away from home you'll have to pay for a tow truck to tow it home from the impound lot after it get impounded for leaving it at a charging station that you couldn't afford. I think they need more work!

I agree with the top commenter Zbret. This is definitely the most informative video I've seen on the Leaf.
I can't wait for the day when EVs are affordable and there are as many charging stations as gas stations.

What a load of shit. That's the most bias example. Your corolla is used and you're comparing it to the price of a new car? Learn to compare apples to apples and not oranges.

@robertquentincobb Looks is opinion. You shouldn't need to go more than 85 M/h. The Leaf is only US$25,000. Some people want new cars not some 6k junker (that cheep it probably has 150,000+ miles on it). You also forgot the price of all the oil and repairs you would need to do on a car that old just to keep it running. The price of gas will keep going up, so will electricity but at a lower cost per mile. Personally I wouldn't buy one because my job requires a truck, but I'd love to if I could.
