  • behind to see what I meant and then took the appropriate action, when he was finished his mum told him to thank me and it was the fact that he did rather than being thanked that affected me the most. I found that I was willing to do anything that would help him as I was so upset by his situation, even though I didn't and still don't fully understand it. He was a very capable rider and his mum was fantastic, they demolished the track for the Olympics three months later and I never saw them again.

  • I met a 7 year old at the cycle race track three years ago and his mum wanted to hire bikes for them both, the guy on duty said no as it was closing soon, I asked her why she did not cycle over and she told me Alex was autistic and couldn't safely manage the journey. I told the guy that we had to have a bike as I was not prepared to let the boy down, he had what looked like a good time and his mum told me he learned to ride by himself . He did not understand left and right so looked( continued)
