  • Seasoning it is so easy that I'd rather do it myself than pay any extra for them to do it...but I have purchased some of the lodge logic pre-seasoned and it worked well. TBS you still need to continuously add to the seasoning over the life of the pot.

  • @wb5mgr You and me both. The pre-seasoned ones are nice though for people who have not ever used cast iron before. It takes some of the scary factor away.

  • Awesome just awesome.

    I talk to the TV.

    And to some vids.

I know I am not the only person that does it. Hea.

I was talkin and right on cue, there was the response..

    Damn guy! You are good.

I can only thumbs up this vid once. Buggers!

  • @Tankdriver100 Thanks for watching!

  • Man your videos have really inspired me to get cooking again. I like how your recipies are just down to earth simple, robust flavored and filling dishes. Also your video quality, and more importantly the way you tell a story with each dish you prepare, well....you might call yourself "average," I think your videos are outstanding.

  • @playdrums Thanks a ton for watching!

  • Lodge is to my knowledge the only US manufacturer of real cast iron. I like that small model you have. I bought the larger model for making campfire chili on car camping trips with friends, but it's too heavy to tote through the woods for long distances unless you have a pack animal ( or make your buddy carry it)

  • OK now I am very hungry! Time for lunch!!

  • Looks delicious! I will have to give this one a try, a good beef stew sounds nice right about now. Awesome job with the video as always!

  • Thanks for doing this video, some great tips on choosing the right dutch oven. That's a great looking stew and I will be making that one soon.Another good thing about knowing how to use a dutch oven besides camping is you never know what mother nature may have in store. If the power/ utilities go, this may become a good option. Thanks again for you're time and the music is a plus.

  • Ya know......

I'm thinking the browning of meat first, came along later.

I think I'm right. Could be mistaken.

But I made a mistake once.

I thought I was wrong but it turned out I wasn't.

Point is; we letcha off from exactly following an old recipe.

    K?
