  • aww bauer bbq :/ i miss it.

  • i wish they would have brought back the old characters. might have saved the show. but now we will never know

  • Does anyone know where I can see the clip of them in the hot tub?

  • @Aquaria Does that include Dvrs? What about the people who don't have them?

  • You clearly don't know how the Nielsen ratings work.

    1) They've been able to track TiVo usage since at least 2005.

    2) Nielsen does collect recording data; advertisers don't care how many people record a show, and they're the ones the ratings are collected for. They only care about how many people will see their products in the commercials. If you're recording, the chances that you'll watch the commercials fall off tremendously compared to sitting through them on a live broadcast.

  • The shows have died because 1) the shows became so expensive to produce 2) the viewership is aging and 3) the viewership is dwindling because women just don't have time for them anymore.

It didn't help that some really ridiculous writing has been out there--cloning? Really?

Not making better use of core families didn't help, either.

Y&R stuck to their core, and didn't go off the deep end with flash plots. How long has it been #1? And that's not a big honking clue?

  • Sniff I watched with my Grandma...

  • My great grandma listened to Guiding Light on the radio, then my mom watched it when she was old enough, and as tradition follows, so do my 2 older sisters and I. I feel like a little piece of my life has died really. I'm really sad to see this show off the air. but we always have the youtube to watch an episode when stuff sucks in the real world!
