Oberursel is the second largest town in the Hochtaunus district, with 43,000 residents. Not quite as exclusive as some of the other Taunus communities, Oberursel has its share of restored half-timbered houses in the historic center. For the expatriate community, Oberursels great advantage is that it is home to the Frankfurt International School. Many parents choose to live in close proximity to FIS, thereby saving on commuting time and also allowing them to take full advantage of the many extra-curricular activities at the school.
