Art stores carry a sealing spray for artwork. Gloss or matte finish. Spray the map to make the paper waterproof. Folds easier and isn't as bulky as lamination sheets.

You can also go to Office Depot and buy a laminator machine fairly cheap. They're really handy and you'll save money in the long run.

with the paper case maybe a little tape would make it waterprof but for around two bucks its not to bad

TAKE THEM TO KINKOS TO BE PRINTED AND HAVE THEM LAMINATE THEM AFTER PRINTING

Great video. The marker that you are talking about is called a "Transparency Pen!"

Something to consider also is to try printing the maps on Rite in the Rain papers, which is water resistant.
