Mike Papantonio talks with Ed Schultz about the Tea Party's attempt to defend George Zimmerman -- the man who murdered Trayvon Martin. They also discuss why it took so long for Florida Governor Rick Scott to make a public statement about the killing.

i just hope that Mr. Zimmerman gets his fair trial so that justice can be prevail for Trayvon family. But you have to remember that Zimmerman is someone's child also. i don't want Mr. Zimmerman to be harmed in anyway. just want a fair trial for zimmerman something that he didn't give to Trayvon !

You need to think about why a man like me with my background, a gun owner and professional Soldier is fighting you on this, why I am starting to turn on the Tea Party. It is this sort of thing. What kind of man puts a gun in his pocket and then picks a fight with somebody almost 100 pounds smaller than him and then, when he starts getting his butt kicked, shoots the other guy? A COWARD does and that's why even people like me who support concealed carry are going to war about this.

Really so poor little George was just minding his own business and didn't provoke the fight? How convenient. Who says he was being beaten up MMA style?

I'm neither ill informed or brainwashed. I'm a proud gun owner, a professional Soldier and I believe that Trayvon was murdered. By taking the side of the murderer, you are going to help those who want to enact gun control. Your position is indefensible but your arrogance and ignorance do not allow you to make decisions based on facts as evidenced by your jingo laden posts that are essentially devoid of truth or accuracy.

Not sure how Obama is involved in this since he was not elected until 2008. Bush is involved because he put political cronies of his in charge of the organization instead of promoting qualified individuals from within the organization. Brown the director as well as Rohde a deputy director and Craig a senior manager had no qualifications but were political contributors and campaigners, not even FEMA employees when appointed.

During Katrina, Martial law was declared on 31 August, 2005. On September 8, the local police, National Guard and Federal Marshals were ordered to confiscate private arms. The 82nd Airborne's 3rd Brigade Panthers and DIVARTY along with supporting units deployed to support search-and-rescue and security operations in New Orleans, Louisiana after the city was flooded by Hurricane Katrina in September 2005. About 5,000 paratroopers commanded by Maj. Gen. William B. Caldwell IV, operated there.

As for the gun grabbing, that was from Mayor Nagin and the Police Chief. Not the Federal Government. Funny how all liberals want to blame Bush for everything. But yet blame Obama for nothing!

@MAINEPREPER: You are obviously ill informed or a brainwashed liberal puppet. Martial Law was never declared in New Orleans. The National Guard was deployed to maintain order while the Army was deployed for Humanitarian Missions. Yes they were both armed, but to protect themselves from the lawless looting criminal scumbags!

During Katrina, martial law was declared and US Marshalls along with US military, Oklahoma National Guard, local police and other entities embarked on a massive gun confiscation, disarming the local citizens. It was actually a multi-jurisdictional gun grab and the blame lies with both the Republicans as well as the Democrats but last I checked, the POTUS was a Republican during that time and he was the one who authorized sending in the US Marshalls and the US active duty military and Guard

Trayvon would not be able to legally carry a firearm. He was a minor. As for who confronted who, that will be determined in court. If Zimmerman had attacked a law abiding citizen who was lawfully carrying a gun and was raining blows down on him MMA style like Trayvon did, then yes he would be covered by Stand Your Ground.
