  • hi I've tried everything, on raider the drive says corrupt root. Ive tried resetting the net gear and I've tried formatting the drive and it still shows it. Im using a 1tb drive from hitachi. I just bought the readyNAS Ultra 2. Am i supposed to just let it be the first two hours when its first booted?

  • @CrazySourcePlayer Use the included RAIDar software, it should tell you when the NAS is ready to be logged into. If it never does, open a support ticket with Netgear.

  • DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT!!!!

    The password "netgear1" doesn't work!

  • @chuch52 Sounds like you have another issue, did you try Netgear support, or the user forum? Older units used the password "infrant1" since Infrant technologies originally developed the ReadyNAS.

  • I have the same issue and tech support now is saying I cant login because of date and time issues I have not done the 192.168.1.NASIP/password_recovery nor did I try infrant 1 how do I tell if I have an older unit?

  • @northeasttech Did they help you get this resolved? Once in a while an incorrect (drastically) date/time on a workstation can cause this.

  • NetGear showed me how to reset the password by using the recovery like so: w w w.192.168.1.NASIP/password_recovery. I can't believe this is not in the manual! Big mistake since this is a common problem I have seen online.
