@mikeybetts I was just going to say someone should wake this old fart up and tell him its the 21st century lol I agree with you, just look at the ISLAMIC republic of iran who, due to outrage around the world at their primitive instincts, instead of stoning wants to hang a woman for adultery. And also, you're right, the US involvement in Iraq has caused women in Iraq to lose a lot of rights, which were on par with some northern european countries easy from what i've been told and have seen. Probably better, because given their culture, they don't treat women like sex objects like many places i've been in US/EU. Maybe not as much in terms of rights and equality as women in USSR/Russia/Sweden, but it's far and away from the stereotype Saudi Arabia to say the least.

No, Islamists didn't tear down the science. The two nations that were the main ones developing this science were destroyed. Persia was destroyed, and the Abbasid kingdom, which comprised mainly modern-day iraq/kuwait by the 13th century, had its entire population exterminated by the Mongols (estimated 17 to 29 million living at the time). The fact you don't know simple history is absolutely idiotic. I dislike Islamism more than you, but I won't condemn stupidity where I see it.

and if you're referring to what islam was like 1500 years ago, then heres a news flash for ya.

in the 21st century, islam is over 1000 years behind everyone else, and has contributed nothing for about 900 years since the "golden age" died at the hands of muslim fundementalists who took the science and progress and tore it down in favor of stone age ignorance.

islam is the path to honour killings, beheading homosexuals, slavery, stoning adulterers and apostates, taking the right to choose away from women, taking the right to work and be indipendent of a man away, jihad, terrorizing non-muslims and of course, living by bronze age laws that have no validity in the 21st century and that every other society surpassed 500 years ago.

Ironically, one of the two Muslim countries the US went into the past 20 years gave women more rights than in most countries in the world (that being Iraq). The US didn't go in there for that purpose, and not even the US claims they went in for that reason at that. I don't disagree with the second part of your post in most Muslim countries, but the first part was just extremely stupid and incorrect. The US didn't invade Saudi Arabia, just so you know (you would be right, then).
