This is a step by step approach to creating a practical, understandable and easily repeatable method of plotting and planning a story.
If children see adults modelling the use of plans and can see an actual point to making a plan before they commit pen to paper then it should encourage them to write to a schedule and with a pre-determined conclusion. In my experience children do not write notes they write the story out several times, in sentences and change very little. This method concentrates on the achieveable, discussion-led formation of a story with only minimal notes on which to embroider an age-appropriate sentence constructed story. Many children find it hard to believe that they know what the story is going to be and how it is going to end before they have begun writing. Hopefully it takes away a lot of the mystique about the creative process without being too formulaic. It is meant to develop confidence in making a whole story together as class and then they can adapt and adopt other ideas that they have heard into their own story-writing. In general I would say that it gives some ideas for the structure of a linear, narrative SATs story.

@LeonaEzmereldaFans Mmmm I am working with children and I try to measure out unhappy endings with happy endings to reflect what happens in real life and to provide balance. These videos are only recipes and working with that premise you can make the ending any way you want. I would say that there are many stories on my site that do not have happy endings, why don't you check those out as well?

Thanks so much, Tony. I just watched three of your videos on creative writing. I'm not much of a writer, but I do own a blog.
Part of the writing requires me to make stuff up. My blog entries are part fiction and part truth. Your video tutorials have given me a good idea on how to come up with some stories.
Most of the time it seems that I get completely stuck and don't know what to write about. Hopefully, with the help of your videos, I will be able to overcome with that.
