The "Four Bricks out of Hadrian's Wall" were Houston's most popular trad folk band throughout the 1980's. In addition to playing clubs and festivals in Texas, they played the Llantrisant Folk Club in Wales, the Hadrian Hotel in Wall, England, and the Fairport Convention Cropredy Festival Afterparty in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

This is from the early days of video recording, and these eight videos are the only known footage of the band playing live. It was recorded by film students at Eastfield College in Mesquite, Texas, on May 6, 1984, and was featured for many years on Dallas Public Television.

The Abbots Bromley Horn Dance Tune is from the oldest ritual dance in England, an awe-inspiring spectacle with ancient-reindeer-antler-toting-dancers, fiddler, hobby horse, archer, cross-dressing molly and triangle player. The Black Nag is c. 1657. The Flaxley Green Dance was learned from the playing of John Kirkpatrick and Sue Harris.

4BHW are:
Gary Coover - concertina, keyboards, bass, vocals
Bill Galbraith - mandolin, tenor banjo, guitar, vocals
Kelley Loftus - guitar, mandolin, bass, vocals
Vance Whelply - bodhran, whistle, percussion, vocals
