Schueberfouer 2008 - "XTreme" breakdown

The "XTreme" ride (Rieger) had a breakdown on the "Schueberfouer", the biggest funfair in Luxembourg. It took over one and a half hours for the people to finally get rescued!

Note that nobody was hurt except for some minor hypothermia, and all safety devices operated as expected. No person was in danger at any time.

The ride, which has a major damage, is currently being repaired by a Dutch company and expected to get back into operation as soon as possible, after being inspected by LuxControl.

As of the 26th of August, the ride is open again to the public.

Another update: The 29th of August, another ride has had a breakdown on the very same funfair, the Schueberfouer. The concerned ride is "Circus Circus", of which the main engine burnt out. Again, nobody was hurt nor was in danger at any time. All riders could leave the ride by themselves.
After the "XTreme", this is the second ride to have a breakdown. Again the damage to the ride is serious, in a way that a specialized company from Germany has to come on the spot to do the repair.

Stimmt nicht. Auf besagtem Jahrmarkt hast du als Schausteller keine Chance wenn dein Fahrgeschäft nicht TÜV geprüft ist. Außerdem wird zusätzlich nochmal jede Attraktion vor der Eröffnung von einer vom Organisator beauftragten privaten Firma auf jegliche technischen Mängel untersucht.

Ein Freund erzählte mir, er war mal im WB Movie world Bottrop auf der Achterbahn gewesen, da hätte es angefangen, zu gewittern und der Blitz schlug in der freefalltower ein, als er gerade oben war, da ging nix mehr und die Feuerwehr musste anrücken, um die Leute zu befreien, man musste sogar die Bügel aufschneiden, weil diese sich nicht öffneten. danach hing da ein schild "Wegen blitzeinschlag geschlossen!"
