A somewhat belated tribute to the Beeb's Synth Britannia, here's everybody's fave synth single from 1977, but with a guitary sort of twist.
Written by Daniel Miller, obviously, and originally available as a lovely piece of black plastic in a picture sleeve. Gave my original to Oxfam when I got rid of my entire vinyl collection but missed it so much I bought it on iTunes. And now I've done my own version. Yay!
Those with long memories will recall my 'synth bollocks' Dr. Who / Blitzkrieg Bop mashup, which owed a lot to the original Warm Leatherette.
The usual suspects here - me on bass and treble and yelling and whispering, Steve Jobs on drums. Recorded on a Mac using a Line6 TonePort and some pieces of wire. Enjoy!
Rockingly Normal! Top marks that man.

Well, Wikipedia reckons it came out in November 1978 - which puzzles me, I was already at University in November 1978, and I'm sure I had this for yonks before I went to Uni.
But it's a long time ago and memory gets hazy with time ...
