Ok...am I the only one that understood the ties between the music box and the clock?....if you payed attention, the music box represented lucy... Because that's what we know her for, and Nyuu always tryin to fix that damn clock. So at the end....when the music box stopped....it meant Lucy was gone....because both of her horns broke off....and she got closure by telling kouta she was sorry and she got a ill bit of some gigging gigging.

Note written from Lucy saying we finally met, and that she "wanted to have a weading ring" though she signed the name as koutas dead sister to help console him the anime ends with koutas daughter nyaa and maya twins at the stone(were Lucy and kouta first net) waiting for someone precious

The ending of elfen lied SPoILER.  Kouta marries and has a kid with his cousin yuka they name the kid nyuu ( the old nyuu is dead she was shot down) the girl with the dog has twins(husband is unknown but I'm Pritty sure it's the badass army guy with mech arm) and names one after koutas dead sister. Kouta returns to the spot to were him and Lucy first met for 10 years after her death on the 10th year he brought his daughter they found a jar next to the stone(with dog burried) in the jar it's a
