This was a small private display I helped my friend Scott with. Scott likes to use long length fuse to shoot his displays. He also demonstrates a technique called piggy backing shells. The firing system he is using is an older model stepper unit. On my channel you will see some of the setup and I believe he will post most of the display.
In this videos I will be using a pyrodirect.com product, fast yellow Visco. I will also demonstrate how to hang consumer spinning wheels, shell repair and a new electric match port that instead of going into Quick Match will go directly into Visco.
I will not be posting the entire display just portions of it. This is mostly a setup video. Due to the length of the fuse it did need reignited a few times because the three inch shells blew the Visco fuse out a couple of time because we had it right over the top of the mortars. When you use this long fuse technique you risk the fuse needed reignited and you also risk something going wrong and it continues to ignite things. I would not recommend it for a close proximity audience. So be sure you have plenty of clearance if you use the long fuse technique. You will find the video ending abruptly because I am not posting the display due to length.

  • good stuff.

awesome vids, and may i ask what camera your using in this video?

  • Both are older model Panasonic mini DV tape models. Without digging them out to look the day one is PV 150 and the night is NV250. The videos are then rendered with Roxio 7 software. You can find these camcorders on Craigslist because everyone is upgrading to HD and selling the older ones. Look for the three CCD camcorder models numbers 150 and higher. Thanks for enjoying the videos. Try to start with a new tape each time also.

  • I finally got to watch these videos, they are great. Thanks for the help with the show. I have the video of the show itself and will try to get it posted soon. Thanks again for the help.

  • That would be great if you posted it because some folks wanted to see it. I enjoyed helping you.

  • Dave tou rock in canada. One qyestion, what firing system was Scott using. Thanks from Toronto Ontario

  • It is an older stepper unit I think is what it is called. You keep pressing the same letter then it works its way 1,2,3 etc. the problem is you can not go back to a number , it only progresses forward. It has to go in order. He is having problems with it and I do not think he would recommend it to anyone. There are better units out there now.
