Jason Varitek is reportedly dealing with discomfort in his left shoulder and left side of his neck.
"The left side of his neck is a little stiff," manager Terry Francona said. "Maybe the sixth or the seventh, he gets the hot stuff on it. He's been doing that for 11 or 12 days." Varitek was reluctant to acknowledge the injury, but he's posted just a .196 average in June with zero home runs in his last 51 at-bats.

Is it just me or does he never make eye contact with ANYONE during interviews? He's surprisingly introverted despite the level of ball he's been at for so long. Also, Re-sign Varitek, the Sox are not the Sox without him.
