  • I got a test after 5 days!!! Anyone can tell me whether I will be allowed to take a small bottle of water with me inside the test room? Can I drink water in the middle of the test?

  • @tensorbundle You're allowed to take a clear plastic bottle of water with you into the IELTS test room and you are allowed to drink the water during the test. Good luck for Saturday. Pete

  • It seems the mark are given by the way on how people look... thats Racism. The ideal method IELTS to conduct this test is by not looking at the person and only listening to the way they speak...

  • @buzzrag2 Thanks for your comment. To put your mind at rest, IELTS examiners around the world all use the same criteria to give candidates a score for their speaking. To get an IELTS Speaking band score 8.0, for example, a candidate must "speak fluently with only occasional repetition or self-correction". You can see more of the IELTS Speaking criteria on some of our other videos. Pete

  • i will take the ielts test days later,,,i hope i could gain a little bit here!

  • @921Christopher Good luck with your test. Pete

  • Dear Pete , The result of IELTS is enormously different from country to country.

If Inga is in Sri Lanka for her speaking test , she will definitely score a band score of 5.

    0 for her level.

In here the examiners don't let the candidates to complete their answers as Inga did.

There were many of my friends who had extremely bitter experiences on speaking.

No different in writing as well.

Having an examiner like you is a myth for Sri Lankan candidates.

  • Best way is, to talk in english. Not only on topics you like but also on topics you don't like or not interested in. As a non native speaker, I scored a 7 in speaking because....I like to speak with people. Even in a different language. Of course I had a lack of my language skill but the more you are interested in speaking, the easier it goes. Speaking was the easiest part for me. Unfortunately I have to take the test again because my last approach was 3 years ago *g*
