I also think any 24 hour retail stores/ merchants should close their doors at 2200 until a sense of security and safety can be restored. Certainly no fault of HRPS. There are a number of low rent residents in the surrounding area and unfortunately this introduces high risk activity. There are a few Portuguese bars in the area which are known for wheeling and dealing, finding a score, and I know a friend of a friend type of thing who can get you what you want.

Halton's Finest will get to the bottom of this. This behavior is unacceptable, especially in such a fine neighborhood with fine citizens. Kerr st. is becoming Haltons Bloor West Village, there has been significant tax payer dollars invested in the revitalization of this area. I would be a strong supporter of CCTV cameras in high risk areas or major arteries leading into or out of such concentrated zones. Rest assured Halton's Major Crime & Forensic unit is one of the finest in the province.

I think this was an act of self defence. But I don't think that the man should have been carrying a knife with him for these purposes. As stated by someone else before "Why can't they fight with their fists?" I agree, and if they still got beat up, then they should have ran away and called the cops on the 2 drunk men. Also I heard that the man who died was a 'Druggie' and just got released from jail recently. Anyways that is the result of drinking Alcohol in the first place and carrying a knife.

What really happened was that 2 18 year old young men were going to Tim Hortons near the place of the incident. Then when they were coming out, 2 other men, one of which was the now dead 31 year old man and his friend were drunk and bumped into the 2 young men and caused a fight to occur. So obviously the 2 older men were much bigger and stronger so they beat the other 2, which were on the ground getting their ass's kicked, so one of them pulled out a small knife and killed the 31 year old man.
