On the 7th December 2010 most of East Anglia - especially our part of South Cambridgeshire experienced an extremely heavy frost that left the landscape painted white. I've not seen such a heavy frost since I was a kid so it was out with the camera, stills camera tripod, Zoom H2 Mic and several layers of clothing. As you can see from the film it was very cold, the camera batteries died after ten minutes and most of the local wild fowl stayed right in the middle of the lakes where it remained ice-free. Apologies for any sound issues and my lack of presenting style. I recorded audio on my Zoom H2 then synchronised it in edit which isn't too easy in moviemaker as the audio tracks don't show up too clearly. Really is time to upgrade my editing programme...
Anyway, hope you enjoy the film. I also used a free audio track from Rickvanman's website http://Music4YourVids.co.uk which is part of the excellent channel www.youtube.com/user/rickvanman

  • Grass roots reporting, pure and simple and simply the best. Some of those scenes at the beginning with the trees against that beautiful blue sky were dramatic. What a wonderful and quiet part of England you live in. Enjoyed this.

    Many thanks,

This part of England not too noisy although the A14 can be quite intrusive depending on wind direction. The wildlife don't seem too bothered by it though.

  • I've seen it all on my driving travels, I know its freezing out there and we all moan about the cold, me included, but some of the scenes I have come across, well its just unprecedented beauty by mother nature. Whole landscapes looking simply spectacular. It really has been a sight to behold.

    Great video 5*

  • @G22PRODUCTIONS

    Many thanks.

Just got to find a way to insulate the battery pack from the cold before doing any more filming.

  • @bemuzic

    Cheers!

  • Very cool! Well done. Reminds me of the Ice storms we get here. One year I think 1991 it was an Inch or more thick...trees breaking etc.. the next day was sunny and beautiful yet lots of damage.

We been getting snow everyday here in western NY. And a big storm maybe next week they say with heavy snow.

  • beautiful..... well done for getting out there and recording it!!
