One look at the newly redesigned lightcycles in Tron, and you know this movie is going to be a wild ride. And it performs surprisingly well as a better-late-than-never sequel that takes advantage of new actors and technology (and pushes it a bit past where it can actually go). But for his first feature film, Kosinski made the most common kind of mistake: story.

  • When you guys said that Sam should've just deleted Clu, you guys are totally right, but then would this movie have as much action and drama? Nope. Flynn dying made the ending what it was, no offense to Flynn.

  • That classic flashback idea isn't too bad, but that flashback was taking place during the events of the graphic novel "TRON: Betrayal". Changes were happening, but the Grid was completely redesigned in Flynn's new computer when he created the second Grid. After all, it was seven years later, and Kevin couldn't have made any changes, so that's why the second Grid looked like it did during the flashback: Kevin couldn't perform changes and the Grid was just... new!

  • i'm hoping BSGcast sees this but i just found your channel and you guys really are one sided i watched a lot of reviews but about the skyline review that one pushed me off the edge sure you have good points and i may sound like an idiot but do you think every detail through and think about everyones opinion or just say what you thought? sure that's what a review is but there is a fine line between reviewing and babbling like idiots who think what everyone else thinks (let the hate mail begin)

  • the reason why the flashbacks wern't in orginal "encom+WorldWideWeb" grid was because Flynn designed his own grid with it's own syle. So it has been the same way since 1985?-2010.

  • Why no musical motifs from the original W. Carlos score?

  • yeah your right... kinda disappointed that TRON did not remove his helmet once he overcame Clu2's programming... and the reveal was quite weak but still amazing...

  • Saw the film at the I-max this weekend, and I felt like a 12yr again even with it's flaws and I love the 1989 flash back seen that Room had alot of great visuals, From the Blackhole and Tron movie posters, the actualy Tron Toys to the Mac sitting on desk and a Tony Hawk Board sitting in the Corner, just great detail for a very short segment of the Film and Jeff Bridges looking Young enough just to move the Story along was good enough, to board meeting scean and Rollacoaster ride begins....

  • @TheSolitaryPoet Well, I agree about the original grid. The closest thing that we get of it is the 2003 video game "Tron 2.0", which doesn't count as canon to the story in the recent film (though it is meant to be a direct sequel to the first film), where Jet Bradley boots up the old server to gain access to it.

  • @codebreaker2001 I’m glad you answered some of the questions I had, some of the years weren’t adding up. Of coarse, my point about there being two different grids (even more according to the first movie) remains the same. I did really want to see at least one seen showing the original grid in glorious 3D.

  • It could be possible that Tron's face is damaged from the betrayal of CLU and they may be saving that for the next film. The "thousand years" story, most of it is told with the "Flynn Lives" ARG, the "Betrayal" comic and the "Evolution" game. Actually, the ARG ties into the plot so close, the last action by users of the "Flynn Lives" ARG game end up opening the door to the Grid, and allowing the page sent to Alan to get through. But I'm glad you guys definitely liked it. I thought you would.
