@FromHereToYaEarTV when you train for power, train for speed so try to avoid squeezing for too long otherwise you kill your speed. On every rep of a squat your muscles are very highly contracted glutes, hams, quads, lower back, upper back, calves..everything...so instead of focusing on the squeeze...focus on exploding with speed on the concentric or positive phase(out of the hole).. say it out loud "EXPLODE,EXPLODE" i do when i do cleans... come up with speed keep the weight moderate..

Well power is just speed really. an object moving at speed is much more powerful than a large object moving very slow.. so training for speed is an integrel part of power training. So using lighter weights under as much speed as possible develops your power, you can have alot of strength and not alot of power... i.e. you can lift heavy weights but you may not be very powerful. Thats why the nfl combine measures the number of reps with 225 lbs. and not your max bench, or vert and not squats.

what do we have to squeeze to gain power?

Power will always beat strength no doubt about it
When trying to increase your vertical do you need strength or power?

Ideally you want to work on increasing strength first then power. Maybe spend 4 weeks on strength and then 4 weeks on power. Lower the weight and explode with each rep during power phase. Hope that helps.
