The reason the shot is so effective is because the enemies will be focused on killing you instead of trying to figure out why you just rolled into them and then the explosive will kill them.

I've been doing these for quite some time as well.
1) The Hammer shot you show is nothing more than a hammer shot.
2) At least one torque here (Memorial) is simply a point blank shot, not a time bomb.
3) The frags are what I do a lot of. Like a lot. But this is simply Epic building in a way to get past planted frags via rolling at point of explosion.
4) What is interesting here is the final kill technique that is the true time bomb - torque what appears to oneself in the foot. Those are fun!
