In 1953, Bernardine and I.N. Hagan purchased 80 acres in the mountains above Uniontown, in Western Pennsylvania, where their families had lived for generations. After falling in love with their friends, the Kaufmann's home, Fallingwater, they telephoned Frank Lloyd Wright and asked if he would design a house for them.

  • Lovely! Thank you! I toured Kentuck Knob and Fallingwater in 2000. Kentuck Knob impressed me as a much warmer, friendlier place, though it was Oct and kind of chilly. So Fallingwater's bare stone and cement didn't seem inviting like it might have at the height of summer heat. But this house could definitely be lived in, I felt!

  • @atonalism I had a wonderful day making the video, the light was right, and they let me video some parts of the interior.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • A superb home and so well cared for. I do beleive I can see the hand of Wes Peters in some of the ornamentation. He often contributed to some of the design elements in Mr. Wright's very late 1950's designs. Bravo!

  • A symphony of substance and space.

  • I can't wait to go there today :D my mom's friend is the landscapist so we might get a free tour :D
