Nice slogans, Edwards. It is not the job of the federal government to provide education for people. Its unconstitutional to have a Department of Education. Education is up to the states. What we need is competition to make our schools better, not more money.

I'm a democrat, however, I don't see how america's budget can handle this very vague, non-specific plan financially. It's a very unilateral argument.

I wish I could go to college for free, but simultaneously, I realize I'd be a financial burden to the citizens of the United States. I'm not saying this is a bad idea...

I just want some clarification so I know this won't be an empty promise.

John will touch the hearts of millions if he's able to be heard. I hope he'll be able to compete fully in the first half a dozen states and get his word out. If you have to John, take a personal loan out from yourself for commercials the week before the Iowa caucus, you will change the country for the better if you're the next president! God bless!

I have been telling people one of the best things about Edwards campaign is that he one of the few candidates that allows any comments on youtube and that has been a talking point I've used against republicans, because their candidates block or erase comments - and now someone there is doing the same - not cool! My comment was pro-Edwards, talked about meeting him, and it's been erased.

I am an educator and John's answer on early childhood was on the mark - universal early childhood opportunities (pre-K), rich literacy environments, ideally with parents and other caregivers involved, and with lots of room for exploration and discovery. Go John and Elizabeth!
