As part of the exhibition "Small Worlds", which opens November 18, the museum partnered with The Andersons and the Lathrop Company to build a house designed by the Tumbleweed Tiny House Company. This is a real house with a working bathroom, kitchen and a sleeping loft big enough for a queen size bed. But it's constructed on a trailer and it's only 65 square feet. The materials were donated by The Andersons general store and labor was donated by Lathrop Company employees. The construction of the shell was accomplished in a single day in the parking lot of the Andersons store in Maumee, Ohio. Watch the fun!

Just cooking lunch and dinner might be enough to heat the entire tiny house for the whole day and then a small space heater or baseboard heater for cold nights.

I burn 20 pieces of wood and spend a whole hour everyday to keep my house 65'! I can't wait to build a tumbleweed!

Here you will end with a house that can be heated with a hairdryer. Or maybe, of well insulated, just the heat of two bodies that live in it. Reducing energyconsumption is not to be found in better insulation of huge houses, but in tiny living.
