Starting at Piazza dei Miracoli , the square in which the Leaning Tower is located, the architectural splendor of the Cathedral and the Baptisterium are in fascinating contrast with the Camposanto Cemetery. Classic art, frescos and sculptures living alongside the engaging simplicity and reverent calm of a graveyard. Although the decorative splendor, symmetry and generous dimensions of the Piazza dei Cavalieri is a feast to the eye, it is the startling and precarious imperfection of the Leaning Tower that dominates the interest of this Renaissance city.
