And there is a difference between just "black boy" and "Very young very good black boy drummer".

Well, I googled "black music", got 6.8 milj results. One of the top ones was Wikipedia:

"Black music is a term encompassing music produced or inspired by black people. In the 20th century, this term has come to usually refer to the many music genres of African American music, especially in United States." On YouTube I got 165K results. I´m sure some of these include "dark ominous suicidal music". And you are right about Negro spirituals. Another anachronism is Negro League.

Some time ago I changed the "... very good black boy..." to "... very good african american boy ...". Since I got many comments on the "black boy" I changed it. My intension was not to offend anybody. I apologize to everyone whose feelings I have hurt. This is a cultural clash I think, since I come from Sweden I have not understood how sensitive this issue is in the USA. I´m not sure if the "african american" is better, what do you think?

Seemingly descriptive language is ok in theory, but in society language of this sort can carry altogether different meanings. although you find it interesting, you clearly are not sensitive to how language is used to divide people.

Negro Spirituals are p.c. because the term is anachronistic.

@BeebieDee why the hell would they assume he is white? white people only make up a small fraction of this earth's population. If white is the dominant colour in your mind I would say that that is problematic and that you have been effected by a dominant racist discourse.

@mcleanayearst Because whites are the main thing. When a childrens picture book says t-shirt you see a picture of a white t-shirt. Most people would assume the kids white if you just say boy
